Bad Bosses and How to Work Through Them

Presentation Description

Bad bosses are a fact of life. You'll likely encounter at least one, if not more, bad bosses in your career. So when you do, how do you deal with that? Do you up and quit at the first sign of trouble, or stay and martyr yourself in your organization? I argue that the most common advice given about bad bosses is wrong, and I outline a more effective way to approach the problem that will both protect you and your career while teaching you about effective communications.

Presentation Objectives

1. Be able to define what a bad boss is.

2. Be able to characterize a bad boss based on his or her actions.

3. Understand how a bad boss can be created in an organization.

4. Understand poor strategies for dealing with a bad boss.

5. Learn the correct strategy for dealing with bad bosses.
